A full-time researcher is required for a 34 month fixed term position to aid the development of PCR-based devices for the diagnosis and treatment of malaria. The study will use a broad range of methodologies including in vitro parasite culture and growth assays and molecular approaches to determine resistance-associated gene mutations.
The post would suit an individual with a PhD in an area related to the research. Knowledge and experience of conventional cellular and molecular laboratory techniques including tissue culture and PCR-based techniques would be an advantage as the appointee will also provide core support for these multidisciplinary activities.
The post is based in a productive laboratory, and will be demanding and challenging, requiring a willing, adaptable and well-organised appointee.
The salary for this position will be £32,920, inclusive.
