This week we received the news that Vietnam is joining the Asia Pacific Malaria Elimination Network (APMEN). The country has shown dramatic successes in the fight against malaria over the last decade. Mortality (for the entire country) was down last year to 14, and morbidity has declined by a massive 85% since 2000. Read more in the story by Nancy Fullman, a young member of MalariaWorld (press release attached in the article).
A regular contributor to MalariaWorld, Divine Ntaryike from Cameroon wrote this week about an interesting workshop that was held in South Africa recently, introducing the field of psychology into our malaria world.
Finally we raise attention once more to the article about screening versus bednets from Bill Jobin. Please have a look and see how the discussion underneath this article unfolds. That is precisely what MalariaWorld was hoping to accomplish. To bring people together to discuss issues on malaria, propose ideas, come up with creative solutions, and simply share thoughts. We're happy to see such a nice example of this here in this article and hope that more of you will engage in the discussions.
Enjoy this week's MalariaWorld - the MW team.
