Data suggest a recent population bottleneck in Turkey that may have obscured a signature for balancing selection in the C-terminal 42-kD region, which was otherwise detectable in other areas.
We described the spatiotemporal change of malaria (Plasmodium vivax) in Turkey over 34 years (1975–2008), and assessed the role of environmental variables in this change.
Our target was to determine the Plasmodium species in the southeast region of Turkey and the therapeutic efficacy of CQ used in the treatment of malaria.
