Keystone Symposia malaria meeting offers subsidies for African students and researchers

June 3, 2016 - 08:55 -- MESA Alliance

Building on the success of MESA’s first collaboration with Keystone Symposia two years ago, MESA and Keystone are once again teaming up to bring you the world’s 2nd conference on the science of malaria eradication taking place in Kampala, Uganda, 19 - 23 February 2017.

Keystone Symposia has received funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to subsidize a limited number of registration fees for African researchers working in malaria, with a preference given to researchers and students from Uganda.  Applicants should send an email to identifying themselves, their occupation (student or postdoctoral fellow), their study program (if applicable), institution, and requesting an award, with a statement of less than 200 words on why it would benefit their training or career plans.  Awardees are responsible for travel costs, as well as lodging costs if they are unable to commute on a daily basis to the meeting.

'Malaria: From Innovation to Eradication' will examine the scientific progress being made toward the goals of eliminating and eradicating malaria, from biological challenges and discoveries, to the development of the next generation of tools, to potentially transformative strategies to eliminate malaria.
