Plant the seed, fight the fever: a grassroots anti-malaria-campaign

December 10, 2020 - 10:10 -- Malaria World

What if there was an herb that could defeat the malaria parasite and save a thousand lives per day, every day? One you could grow in your backyard, which costs next to nothing, and could be easily available for everybody in need?

The Film THE FEVER portrays the fight against malaria in East Africa as a case study in greed, courage and self-determination.

The social impact documentary THE FEVER is a passionate account of three amazing people in Kenya and Uganda. They show us how local solutions like using Artemisia tea against malaria can save millions of lives.

After a delay of several months due to the first COVID-19 lockdown in Austria, the film THE FEVER could finally celebrate its premiere on the 25th September 2020 and was shown for nearly 6 weeks until the second lockdown on the 2nd of November. THE FEVER was shown at several interntional film festivals such as the International Human Rights Film Festival in Taiwan and the Bozcaada International Festival of Ecological Documentary.

To reach the goal in bringing THE FEVER back to Africa, the social impact campaign 'Plant the seed, fight the fever' was launched. After all, the film should be seen where it can help the people affected by malaria most.
